Basketball Game Preview: La Costa Canyon Mavericks vs. Campolindo Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the La Costa Canyon Mavericks will jump right back in to play the Campolindo Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

La Costa Canyon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 57 points last Tuesday, they were much more limited against St. Joseph Academy on Friday. They fell 33-21 to the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, Campolindo also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Liberty by a score of 54-47. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Patriots are ranked 514th).

Campolindo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for La Costa Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
