Valley scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They and the Miyamura Patriots were almost perfectly matched up, but the Vikings suffered a 36-35 defeat. The Vikings were up 28-14 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why Valley lost, don't look at Zachary Perez-Verdeja. Despite the final result, he rushed for 113 yards and four scores. The Vikings also got help from Gabriel Gonzales, who showed off his sure hands for 113 receiving yards.

While Valley came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Miyamura: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 47.6%. The team can thank Jonathan Silva for the heroic effort on defense: he. Valley wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.6%.

Salid Rashid had an outrageously good game for Miyamura as he threw for 154 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown. Those 86 rushing yards gave Rashid a new career-high. Sean Torres was another key player, rushing for 103 yards and one score.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Miyamura, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
