Softball Recap: Vici Comes Up Short

VICI was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 15-1 to the Merritt Oilers. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Oilers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Vici's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Merritt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vici will welcome Shattuck at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shattuck's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Vici's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Merritt, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mangum at 5:30 p.m. on September 8. The Oilers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
