Soccer Game Preview: Monta Vista vs. Woodside

The Monta Vista Matadors will venture away from home to square off against the Woodside Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Monta Vista came up short against Saint Francis on Wednesday, falling 4-1. That's two games in a row now that Monta Vista have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, Woodside kept a clean sheet against Mills last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Vikings. The victory continues a trend for Woodside in their matchups with Mills: they've now won seven in a row.

Woodside hit Mills with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Daniel Artandi (2), Matteo Di Grande, Brainin Augustin, and Luca Marks.

Woodside's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Monta Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Monta Vista's way against Woodside in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Monta Vista made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Matadors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
