Baseball Recap: Shaw Comes Up Short

After flying high against Chattahoochee County on Saturday, Shaw came back down to earth. The Shaw Raiders fell 7-3 to the Mount Vernon Mustangs on Saturday.

Shaw saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sincere Ford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ford is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another was Khonnor Dorminey, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Shaw's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mount Vernon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaw will venture away from home to square off against St. Anne-Pacelli at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Vernon, they will head out to challenge Archer at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
