Recap: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Valley Vikings
The Union Mine Diamondbacks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Valley 63-14 at home. Considering Union Mine has won six contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Union Mine found their leader in underclassman Kamdyn Keeler, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Keeler scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jennifer Wylie, who scored eight points along with eight steals.
Union Mine now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Union Mine and Ponderosa will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Ponderosa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Union Mine likes a good challenge. Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Dixon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
