Volleyball Recap: New Bern's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

New Bern's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the West Craven Eagles. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-20, 25-14.

New Bern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyaw Htoo, who had nine assists and eight aces. Those eight aces gave Htoo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was William Gay, who had nine assists and six aces.

They weren't the only good server: New Bern was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

New Bern's record is now 3-11. As for West Craven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

West Craven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Swansboro on the 26th. Hopefully New Bern paid attention to the Eagles' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
