If Bell wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Dixie County, they should've done a better job of containing Jaicee Brown. The Bears won by a set and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2 thanks in part to Brown, who had 38 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-103) Dixie County actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-19, 26-24, 22-25, 15-12.

Leading Dixie County to victory were Hadlee Hines and Addie Whitaker. Hines had 20 digs, while Whitaker had ten digs. That's the most digs Whitaker has posted since back in October of 2024.

Dixie County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Bell lost on Thursday, don't look at Canaan Johnson. Despite the final result, she had 35 assists and 20 digs. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 13.3 assists per game. Another player making a difference was Kylee Barnes, who had ten digs.

Dixie County's record is now 4-0. As for Bell, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Dixie County will host Williston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bell, they will head out to face off against Fort White at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
