Basketball Game Preview: Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears

Hillsdale hasn't had much luck against Menlo-Atherton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS will face off against the Menlo-Atherton Bears at 6:15 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Hillsdale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Mills 69-49 on Wednesday. The score was close at the half, but the FIGHTING KNIGHTS pulled away in the second half with 42 points.

Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton entered their tilt with Westmoor on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Rams 70-35. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Rams are ranked 588th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Menlo-Atherton has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Hillsdale, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Hillsdale was able to grind out a solid win over Menlo-Atherton in their previous meeting back in January, winning 49-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillsdale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
