Preview: Livermore Cowboys vs. Carondelet Cougars
Livermore is 0-9 against Carondelet since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Livermore Cowboys will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Carondelet Cougars at 10:30 a.m. Livermore has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
On Thursday, Livermore's game was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Napa with a 36-30 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Livermore to victory, but perhaps none more so than Angie Bhatia, who scored 21 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bhatia has scored at least 25% of Livermore's points. Jaylinne Pacheco was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Carondelet has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 28 points or more this season. They really took it to Park Hill South for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-35 victory on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-21.
Livermore's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10. As for Carondelet, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Livermore took a serious blow against Carondelet in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 61-16. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Livermore was down 44-8.
