Recap: Segerstrom Jaguars vs. Tesoro Titans
The Segerstrom Jaguars came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Tesoro 56-36. Segerstrom might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 20 points or more this season.
Segerstrom's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stephanie Valenciano, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. The contest was Valenciano's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Faith Ledesma, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Segerstrom's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Tesoro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Segerstrom will play host again and welcome Mission Bay, where tip off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mission Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 794th, while Segerstrom is ranked 149th). Tesoro will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Foothill at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
