Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ethan Tran and Tyler Nguyen Lead Millennium to Victory

It was a proper cat-fight when Millennium took on Boulder Creek on Thursday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Millennium who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 17-25, 26-24, 20-25, 15-9.

Millennium was led to victory by Tyler Nguyen and Ethan Tran. Nguyen had 25 assists and nine digs, while Tran had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Nguyen has posted over his last five matchups.

Boulder Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Xian Gonzalez, who hit 54.5% for six kills and 12 digs and two aces. He has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 14 times he's played. David Powell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Millennium's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Boulder Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
