Basketball Recap: Delphi Community Oracles vs. Lafayette Central Catholic Knights
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Delphi Community Oracles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a tough 45-22 defeat at the hands of the Knights on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Delphi Community has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Delphi Community lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jenna Roth. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with four steals. Roth hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Delphi Community struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Delphi Community's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-11.
Delphi Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lafayette Central Catholic and the Knights will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
