Basketball Recap: Gabrielino Skates Past Arroyo with Ease

Gabrielino won the last time they faced Arroyo and things went their way on Monday too. The Gabrielino Eagles really took it to the Arroyo Knights for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 win. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gabrielino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Yamashita, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Chung, who posted six points along with five assists and three steals.

Gabrielino was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Gabrielino's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Arroyo, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Gabrielino will take on Marshall in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arroyo, they will head out to take on El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arroyo is facing El Monte at the right time seeing as El Monte is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
