Basketball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline lost against Southwestern Heights back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thunderbirds were dealt a 57-9 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs.

Kooper Wesley was Skyline's leading scorer, having posted six points. Wesley also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Layla Pearl Kisner had a dynamite game For Southwestern Heights., going 9-for-19 to rack up 21 points along with seven boards and four steals. The matchup was Pearl Kisner's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leslie Garcia, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Skyline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-14 defeat against Medicine Lodge on the 9th. As for Southwestern Heights, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Spearville on the 16th.
