Basketball Recap: Freeman Comes Up Short

Freeman lost to Elmwood-Murdock last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Falcons took a 39-20 bruising from the Knights. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Elmwood-Murdock was led to victory by Jalyn Fleischman and Annie Backemeyer. Fleischman posted 15 points, while Backemeyer put up 12 points. Fleischman continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Goudie, who scored five points and eight rebounds.

Freeman's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Elmwood-Murdock, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeman will square off against Sterling at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jets have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Elmwood-Murdock, they will face off against Johnson County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
