Softball Recap: Albany Wins Going Away Against Lafayette

Albany got themselves on the board against Lafayette on Saturday, but Lafayette never followed suit. They blew past the Fighting Irish 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 11 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Makena Moffat made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs.

In other batting news, Jayden Hillyard was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabel Manville, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Albany's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Albany has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Benton on the 4th. As for Lafayette, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 defeat against Carrollton on the 4th.
