Soccer Game Preview: Citrus Hill vs. Perris

The Citrus Hill Hawks will challenge the Perris Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Citrus Hill's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Citrus Hill took on Vista del Lago on Tuesday. Citrus Hill lost 4-0 to Vista del Lago. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hawks came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Ravens are ranked 893rd).

Meanwhile, Perris can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let Lakeside onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

Citrus Hill's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 8-2-3. As for Perris, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-7.

Citrus Hill skirted past Perris 1-0 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Citrus Hill repeat their success, or does Perris have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
