Basketball Recap: Pitman Takes a Loss

Pitman lost against Downey back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pitman Pride fell 36-28 to the Downey Knights. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Downey's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joslyn Sheppard led the charge by putting up five points along with six boards and five assists. Sheppard is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Zadie Carraway was another key player, earning eight points and 18 rebounds.

Pitman's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Downey, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Pitman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downey, they have already played their next contest, a 28-22 defeat against Tokay on the 17th.
