Softball Recap: Ames Beats Indianola for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Ames lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Indianola, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Little Cyclones put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 9-1 win on Thursday. The Little Cyclones might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 games by seven runs or more this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Ames, bringing their record up to 28-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Indianola, they moved to 21-15 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Ames wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-1 loss against Ankeny on the 12th. As for Indianola, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Ottumwa on the 12th.
