Basketball Recap: Mae Wolford's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Arcata over Montgomery

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Arcata can now relate to. They fell 48-41 to the Montgomery Vikings on Tuesday. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Arcata's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mae Wolford, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Kinyon, who posted 11 points.

Arcata's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Montgomery, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Arcata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montgomery, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-42 loss against Redwood on the 21st.
