Basketball Game Preview: Sanger Apaches vs. Independence Falcons

The Sanger Apaches will square off against the Independence Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Independence took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sanger, who comes in off a win.

Sanger took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 58-26 victory over Edison. That looming 58-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Apaches yet this season.

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Bakersfield.

Sanger will have to contain Kenadi Walton as she made an impact in Independence's last game. She dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Ka'Rayah Robertson was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 11 boards and three steals.

Sanger is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
