Baseball Recap: Arcadia Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Arcadia had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Simi Valley Pioneers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Apaches have posted since March 30th.

Aiden Soto was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Vogel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Arcadia is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Simi Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.

Coming up, Arcadia will challenge Summit at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Apaches 2.8, the SkyHawks 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Simi Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
