Soccer Game Preview: New Hampstead vs. Groves

The New Hampstead Phoenix will face off against the Groves Rebels on Friday. New Hampstead's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

New Hampstead is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Effingham County on Tuesday. New Hampstead fell just short of Effingham County by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for the Phoenix in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Groves' game last Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Woodville-Tompkins out 2-1.

Gael Diaz-Arena and Bob Orozco scored both of Groves' goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Having lost for the first time this season, New Hampstead fell to 2-1. As for Groves, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
