Jesiana Mora, a senior shortstop at Apopka, leads Florida high school softball in steals with 63 and counting. A Florida Atlantic University commit, Mora has stolen six bases in two games and has swiped at least three nine times in 2022.

Mora is having a tremendous senior season with a .586 batting average (41 of 70) with four doubles, four triples and 43 runs. Apopka (17-7) opens the Class 7A playoffs Thursday at West Port.

In her four-year starting career, which includes a pandemic-shortened, four-game sophomore season, Mora has piled up 143 hits, 138 runs and stolen 184 bases, including 61 as a junior and 52 as a freshman.

Only two girls in the state have stolen at least 60 bases this season, the other being Ansley Hudson of Pine Ridge (Deltona) with 60 in just 18 games.
