Soccer Game Preview: San Gabriel vs. Schurr

San Gabriel is 0-9-1 against Schurr since January of 2020 but things could change on Monday. The San Gabriel Matadors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Schurr Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Schurr took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on San Gabriel, who comes in off a win.

San Gabriel's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Rolling Hills Prep as San Gabriel made off with a 3-0 win. Considering the Matadors have won five games by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Schurr was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of GALA. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Goddesses are ranked 116th).

Schurr's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for San Gabriel, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-3-2.
