Volleyball Game Preview: Greeley West Spartans vs. Windsor Wizards

Greeley West is 1-7 against Windsor since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Wizards at 6:00 p.m.

Greeley West lost 3-0 to Fossil Ridge on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Windsor was able to grind out a solid victory over Poudre on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. The Wizards haven't had any issues with the Impalas recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Windsor had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-21.

Windsor's win came from a few key players Greeley West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hallie Burroughs, who had 16 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (25). Another player making a difference was Avery Smiley, who had 18 digs.

Windsor was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive matchups.

Greeley West's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Windsor, their record now sits at 13-5.

Greeley West might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Windsor when the teams last played back in September. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
