Recap: Cornerstone Christian Cougars vs. San Joaquin Memorial Panthers
After flying high against the Making Waves Academy Marlins last Friday, the Cornerstone Christian Cougars came back down to earth. Cornerstone Christian took a serious blow against San Joaquin Memorial on Saturday, falling 67-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cornerstone Christian has scored all season.
Mecca Alexander was Cornerstone Christian's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Alexander held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for San Joaquin Memorial, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Cornerstone Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pleasant Valley at 5:30 p.m. on January 15th. Pleasant Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Cornerstone Christian likes a good challenge. As for San Joaquin Memorial, San Joaquin Memorial and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will face off at 10:30 a.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than San Joaquin Memorial in California (Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is ranked 13th, while San Joaquin Memorial is ranked 135th).
