Basketball Recap: Christian Skates Past Eastlake with Ease

While Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Eastlake Titans, posting a 66-36 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Christian found their leader in freshman Leah Speers, who posted 29 points. Speers' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maepon Johnson, who earned 13 points.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ari Ruperto, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Eastlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Christian will take on University City in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastlake, they will head out to challenge El Capitan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
