Volleyball Recap: Morrison Falls Despite Big Games from Leah Young and Bricelyn Osborn

Morrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Newman Central Catholic Comets. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Comets earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Morrison sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Morrison had strong showings from Bricelyn Osborn, who had 14 digs and 12 assists, and Leah Young, who had nine digs and eight assists.

Morrison's loss dropped their record down to 10-12-2. As for Newman Central Catholic, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.

Morrison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Milledgeville on the 7th. As for Newman Central Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Mendota on the 7th.
