Illinois High School Volleyball - Morrison can't hold off Newman Central Catholic

The Newman Central Catholic Comets held off the host Morrison Mustangs volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Monday's non-league outing.

The Comets now possess a 9-15 record. They play next when they host Mendota for a Three Rivers outing on Tuesday, October 7. Newman Central Catholic will clash with a Trojans team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Somonauk (Somonauk, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 4-18.

With the loss, Morrison drops to 10-12 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Milledgeville (Milledgeville, IL) to clash with the Missiles in a Northwest Upstate Illini match on Tuesday, October 7. The Missiles enter the match with a record of 17-5. Milledgeville lost 2-1 in their recent league match against Eastland (Lanark, IL)
