Basketball Recap: Englewood Drops Season-High Score on Stanton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Englewood). They were the clear victor by a 69-48 margin over the Stanton Blue Devils on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Rams with their most commanding win of the season.

Englewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vincent Witherspoon, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points and five assists. Nathaniel Moore was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

Witherspoon wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Englewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Englewood's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Stanton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Englewood will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eagle's View at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Stanton will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Westside at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
