Softball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Hardaway Hawks, falling 18-5. The Golden Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Rayn Shorter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hardaway, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Coming up, Monroe will venture away from home to face off against Dougherty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hardaway, they will take on Shaw at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
