Football Recap: Halstead Falls Short of Hoisington in the Playoffs

Halstead and Hoisington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Halstead had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Cardinals, falling 74-24. The Dragons have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Halstead lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Damien Whillock, who threw for 189 yards and one TD, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Edric Zorn, who rushed for 50 yards and a pair of scores.

Halstead's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hoisington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Halstead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoisington, they will face off against Hillsboro on Friday.
