Basketball Game Preview: Montour Spartans vs. Moon Area Tigers

Montour hasn't had much luck against Moon Area recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Montour Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Moon Area Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Montour will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Lincoln Park Performing Arts, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Montour simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Lincoln Park Performing Arts 60-30. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.

Meanwhile, Moon Area didn't have too much breathing room in their match against West Allegheny on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 53-48 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Montour's record is now 7-5. As for Moon Area, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Montour couldn't quite finish off Moon Area when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 46-43. Can Montour avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
