Soccer Game Preview: South Paulding vs. Villa Rica

The South Paulding Spartans will take on the Villa Rica Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

South Paulding is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lithia Springs on Friday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 1-0. South Paulding haven't had much luck with Lithia Springs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Villa Rica, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past East Paulding 4-3. The high-scoring effort was just what Villa Rica needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

They hit East Paulding with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ezra Miahnahri (2), Kenneth Thompson III, and Alexander Melendez.

Villa Rica is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those nine games. South Paulding's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

South Paulding skirted past Villa Rica 2-1 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will South Paulding repeat their success, or does Villa Rica has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
