Soccer Recap: Ceres Comes Up Short

The matchup between Ceres and Central Valley on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bulldogs came up short against the Hawks, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Ceres can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 851st, while Central Valley are ranked 278th).

Ceres' loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Central Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4-2 record this season.

Ceres will square off against Livingston at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ceres are facing Livingston at the right time seeing as Livingston are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Central Valley, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Grace Davis at 3:00 p.m.
