Softball Game Preview: Newton Cardinals vs. Pella Dutch

The Newton Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Pella Dutch on Thursday. The last three games Newton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Newton didn't have quite enough to beat Prairie City-Monroe and fell 9-8.

Meanwhile, Pella got themselves on the board against Saydel on Tuesday, but Saydel never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dutch.

Newton's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Pella, their victory bumped their record up to 20-12.
