Basketball Recap: Esparto Takes a Loss

Esparto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 21-4 fall against the Princeton Eagles.

Esparto got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Lisandra Martinez and Kay Schneider, who each put up two points.

Princeton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Dillard, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Wills, who earned five points and four steals.

Esparto's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Princeton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Esparto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 35-29 win against San Juan on the 10th. As for Princeton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 32-22 victory against Paradise on the 6th.
