Recap: Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets
The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 47-37 victory over Ferndale on Monday. This was payback for Conemaugh Valley, who suffered a 48-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Conemaugh Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Miller, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Stiffler, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Conemaugh Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Ferndale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Conemaugh Township at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Conemaugh Township focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday. As for Ferndale, they will head out on the road to challenge Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
