Basketball Recap: Mission Bay Takes a Loss

Mission Bay fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Kearny on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kearny Komets. The Buccaneers were not able to make up for their loss to the Komets from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Mission Bay still got an impressive performance from Jackie Quiachon, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds gave Quiachon a new career-high. Haley Shanks was another key player, putting up nine points.

Mission Bay's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Kearny, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Mission Bay has already played their next matchup (against Clairemont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kearny has already played their next game, a 38-32 loss against Coronado on the 14th.
