Basketball Recap: El Monte Lions vs. South El Monte Eagles
After flying high against Mountain View last Friday, El Monte came back down to earth. The Lions were dealt a 50-18 defeat at the hands of the South El Monte Eagles on Wednesday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
El Monte's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for South El Monte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.
El Monte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-20 defeat against Gabrielino on the 16th. As for South El Monte, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m.
