Baseball Recap: Massabesic Comes Up Short

Massabesic lost to Scarborough back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 9-2 to the Red Storm. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since May 27, 2025.

Massabesic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Marcotte, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Marcotte has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Patrick Jones also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Massabesic has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Scarborough, their record is now 10-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Massabesic will challenge rival Windham at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Scarborough is set to take on their familiar foe Portland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
