Basketball Game Preview: Blackhawk Cougars vs. Beaver Bobcats

Blackhawk is 8-2 against Beaver since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Beaver will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Blackhawk extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Cougars blew past Forest Hills 64-42. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 20-point advantage.

Aubree Hupp was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 21 points and 27 boards. The contest was her 32nd in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracen Sehn, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Blackhawk was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Beaver blew past Brentwood, posting a 47-16 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Blackhawk's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Beaver, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Blackhawk took their victory against Beaver in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 52-31 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
