Basketball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

Edison entered their matchup against Bear Creek on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Vikings took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, don't look at Ajaila Jordan. Despite the final result, she went 7-for-15 on her way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. The Vikings are 4-2 when Jordan posts three or more steals, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Reed, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Bear Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Touraya Blakey, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Siannah Rios, who earned 17 points.

Edison's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-12. As for Bear Creek, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
