Basketball Recap: Maret Skates Past Alexandria City with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maret). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 61-33 victory over the Alexandria City Titans. Given the Frogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in District of Columbia, while the Titans are ranked 199th in Virginia) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alexandria City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Elijah Douglas, who posted nine points. Michael Nketia also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win keeps Maret at an undefeated 4-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 53.0 points this season. As for Alexandria City, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Maret wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-42 defeat against Potomac School on the 16th. As for Alexandria City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-44 loss against West Springfield on the 17th.
