Basketball Recap: John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 victory over the Encina Bulldogs on Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Patriots were the better team in the second half.

Khaliah McDonald and Elise Brandon certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McDonald posted six points in addition to 18 boards and three steals, while Brandon earned six points along with 12 rebounds and seven steals. Brandon is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Encina, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin will take on Forest Lake Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Encina has already played their next game (against Futures), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
