Basketball Preview: Bayard Rustin Golden Knights vs. Central Bucks West Bucks
Bayard Rustin has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Central Bucks West Bucks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bayard Rustin is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bucks in Pennsylvania (the Golden Knights are ranked 65th, while the Bucks are ranked 332nd).
Last Thursday, Bayard Rustin beat the Hornets 47-38.
Bayard Rustin found their leader in underclassman Jenna Kraft, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kraft has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Stackhouse, who scored six points along with eight steals.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks West's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 55-42 to Pennridge.
Bayard Rustin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Central Bucks West, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Bayard Rustin was able to grind out a solid win over the Bucks in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 46-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bayard Rustin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
