Basketball Recap: Los Molinos Comes Up Short

Los Molinos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burney Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-41 back in January.

Despite the loss, Los Molinos still got an impressive performance from Addison Jones, who posted 17 points. Natalie Martinez was another key player, putting up nine points.

Among those leading the charge was Alexis Witzel, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Perez, who put up seven points and five steals.

Los Molinos' defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Burney, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Los Molinos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 44-15 win against Plumas Charter on the 19th. As for Burney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-29 victory against CORE Butte on the 14th.
