Football Recap: Bayard Takes a Loss

Bayard had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it six. They took a blow against the Sandhills/Thedford Knights, falling 68-8. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 70-12 to the Knights when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Coy Armstrong threw for 70 yards on three of eight attempts. Anderson Gaarder was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

As for Sandhills/Thedford, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Maurice Robinson, who rushed for 60 yards and two scores on only five carries, and also threw for 143 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Carter Anderson also helped with three touchdowns in total.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bayard is set to square off against their familiar foe Brady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sandhills/Thedford will take on rival Maxwell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
